Bangkok Mass Transit System (BTS)
The Bangkok Mass Transit System (BTS) is the safest, most comfortable and convenient transport system to take you around from the busy road of Bangkok city. Each train can carry over 1,000 passengers while a similar number of people would use 800 cars, making the BTS Sky train the most environmentally friendly mass transit system in Thailand. Currently there are two routes, the Sukhumvit Line and the Silom Line. They cover much of the central city and its many commercial, residential and tourist areas, with extensions planned to outlying areas. The trains run daily between 6:00 am and 12:00 midnight with frequent service throughout the day, increased during rush hours. The fare is based on the distance traveled. The sky train station combines an efficiency of space with a contemporary style that’s both functional and elegance. Several main stations have skybridges, walkways that conveniently connect to the station’s concourse directly to the neighboring shopping and commercial centers such as the National stadium station is connected to the MBK and Siam Discovery, Prom pong connected to the Emporium Shopping Mall, Asoke connected to the Grande de Sheraton and Times square. The BTS offers one of the world’s safest mass transit systems with a very strict security and safety codes throughout. All BTS Sky Train and stations are equipped with emergency features, and we have a handbook on rules, regulations and emergency procedures available to all passengers. All the safety rules and regulations are written in big letters in both the station and the train. It gives the best and convenient access to all the travelers avoiding all the traffics from the busy road of Bangkok and making your destination only a few minutes away.
