The martial arts of Muay Thai or Thai Kick Boxing is a favourite for tourists to Thailand. Originally intended as a self-defence technique, it later developed into a world-recognised sport.
The well-known Lumpini Stadium on Rama IV road, Bangkok was established in 1956 and offers the “real thing”, unlike some shows you may see in the resort areas.
Boxers are allowed to use almost any part of their body - hands, feet, elbows, legs and knees. There are five 3 minute rounds in a bout, each separated by a 2 minute rest period.
The Lumpini stadium is only of the most higly reccomended in town with a lot of actions and thrills promised to all audience. Getting to the destination is also very convenient by taking a cab or the BTS Sky train. The Thai Kick Boxing show is very famous among both locals and foreigners.
