Major Cineplex (Central World Plaza), Bangkok with EGV Entertainment, its subsidiary, has the largest number of movie theaters in Thailand with 258 screens in 32 locations. The founder of Major Cineplex in Bangkok was Vicha Poolvaraluck in 1996.
Major Cineplex (Central World Plaza), Bangkok in 2004 took over EGV Entertainment, which was the country's first Cineplex group.
There are as many as nineteen Major Cineplex theaters in Bangkok and the Major Cineplex (Central World Plaza), Bangkok not only includes movie theaters but also shopping complexes, bowling alleys, fitness centers, restaurants and shops.
